Being Bob Marley

1234487753_6916_full

“This is my master Mark and I on the floor after a great game of hide & go seek. Although something I can’t seem to understand is why Mark always seem to win!? I have the best hiding place in the world, you’ll never guess where, behind Marks guitar (with my tail sticking out just a little).
I’m going to miss Mark terribly when he’s gone on tour again, but hopefully he’ll find it necessary to take me with, after all, I get along with his band mates (who always seem to pour their drinks on the ground for me to have a taste, I must admit, whatever they give me makes me pull funny faces and my tongue sticking out)  and I usually go lie on Mark’s feet when they have band practice in the garage.
Probably one of my most favourite things to do is waking Mark up in the morning, I usually play with his toes, it makes him make silly noises.
I just came to check in, and let you all know what it’s like being Me!”

Lots of furry Love:

"I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world." Matthew 13:35

So I know I haven't posted something in a while now, but I'm back for a little while.
The last few months I've been on tour with our new album. It was long hours of work,
hard not being able to be with Lilly for such long periods of time. But she did come to watch a few gigs.
The studio work was the most fun of all, but very hard work.

Here is a few photo Lilly took when we performed.

I'm pretty fucking tired from the tour and gigs, so let the relaxation begin!
You'll hear from me more often now.

PEACE OUT!

I'm giving into you

Photo from above was taken on the night of our first gig, this is a photo of Robert, our vocalist.

On the 5th of February my band and I had our very first gig at LikeSide in Centurion. And I'm proud to say, it went incredibly well. A guy from Death Brings Life record company signed us! And thats the reason I've neglected my blog a bit, we've been in the studio recording our very first album. I have to say, we are so very lucky, that just after our first gig we played, we got signed! After we finished recording the album we will tour a little, and we are all very excited about that! We don't have a name for our album yet, but still working on it. I will keep you updated on  how it goes with the recording.

I also want to thank Lilly for all the support, I'm probably not the easiest person to be around with, because I'm either stressed or tired or both. But most of the time I'm not even at home, being so busy at the recording studio and all. I want to let you know I love you always!
Also a great thanks to all my friends and family for the support, it's dearly appreciated!

Check out my facebook page for more photo's on the Band Practice (photo-shoot).

Peace out!

Band Practicing (photo-shoot)

This past weekend Lilly and some of her photography friends took some photo's of the band while we were practicing for the gig on Friday, which is in 4 days. Lilly got a bit upset, because I spent most of my week and weekend at band practice and haven't had much time for anything else. At least I can say, we are more then ready for our gig. Richard gave us a new song on Thursday that he wrote and wanted us to play at the gig, so we practiced even more than we whould've. But having Lilly there, taking photo's was awesome and a bit more relaxing than usual.

Devon on base

That would be me, standing with my very first guitar I bought myself when started playing.
That's the band!

Die Antwoord on Sunday

Image above from here

Lilly and I had the best time on Sunday night, Die Antwoord, one of the local bands in South-Africa (they're a Afrikaans rap band that sings about poverty, drugs, crime and girls), performed at Tings 'an Times. The only thing that dampened our spirits was the fact that we both had to work the following day. And I still had one massive headache from the bump against my head from the fall on Friday.
Yesterday, I had a whole day of band practice, we have our first gig at Lakeside in Centurion on 5 February, not far from now. We're a bit nervous, but at the same time so excited!! So this whole week we will be practicing our butts off.
Also having our band's first gig, 2 of my friends from Cape Town (Adrian and Mila) will be visiting and Lilly and I can't wait to show them all our favorite places in the area, something they always do when we go to visit them. So Lilly and I made a list of all the place we are thinking of taking them. (I'll post the list a little later, we're still working on it). But there's so much places and things we want to show them, that we don't think we will be able to fit it all in the 4 days that they'll be visiting...

Hope you have a nice day
'Till Later
Peace

Epic failure

Epic Failure is a understatement for how my day was, seriously. When you think something couldn't get worse, well SURPRISE, it always can! This morning I woke up with a hangover so bad, my own heartbeat was like a guy playing bongo's on stereo in my ear. Just as I finally got the courage to get up out of bed I stepped in dog-poo, as I tried getting to the bathroom without further stepping on the foot with dog-poo I fell in the hallway over a plate! (Dude, I mean, seriously! How did a plate get in  the middle of my hallway!? And how on earth do you trip over a plate?) While tripping and trying to gain my balance I stepped on my favorite white carpet with the poo-foot, which grossed me out so badly that I puked in a vase on the table. Leaning against the bathroom door cleaning my feet, wasn't such a good idea either, I slipped and fell with my head against the toilet and it knocked me out cold for a few seconds. Dude, I tell you, I felt like I was dying when I finally gained consciousness, blood dripping from my head. Well, that was just the morning, (and how happy I was my maid had to clean my mess up).

Later in the day, I got a speeding ticket, (which was unnecessary, because I drove 84km/h in a 80km/h area, seriously, 4km? ), my phone was stolen, the doctor had to inject me in my head, so I could get stitches, I got 5 stitches!, oh, and my doctor laughed at me for falling on a toilet!

When I made dinner tonight I burned everything! (well, that's my fault, can only blame myself, I was playing x-box way too intently) ... At least I had pizza, because my food was BLACK and tasted like charcoal.

I had the worst day in my life, accident upon accident!? Bad luck hit me at full speed today! Today was a Epic failure! At least not everything's that bad, my girlfriend came over (Lilly) and now she's taking care of me. A little TLC! A great end to a horrid day!

So when you thought you had a bad day, check again!
Hopefully nobody, not even my worst enemy, ever have a day like this Epic Failure!
Goodnight to all. I need some rest!

Peace out!

You are exactly my brand of heroin

Love isn't finding someone you can live with, it's someone you can't live without.
Lilly I love you and I can't live without you. You are my everything.
